Noted Pittsburgh autho Jim O’Brien has
consulted with us on the script and will work with us to
achieve authenticity. Mr. O’Brien has written MAZ AND THE
’60 BUCS, PITSBURGH: THE STORY OF THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS,
two books about the Steelers DOING IT RIGHT and
WHATEVER IT TAKES and most notably REMEMBER
ROBERTO.
As Jim O’Brien states in his book, "He
[Roberto] was always a heroic figure, a sleek, compact-muscled
man who could do it all on a baseball field, whether it was
Forbes Field, Three Rivers Stadium or some distant outpost in
this country or his native Puerto Rico. It took awhile for the
Pirate fans to truly appreciate him, and it took his untimely
death in an airplane crash in 1972 to properly focus attention
on his marvelous feats, both on and off the playing field . .
. Clemente cried out to be loved, to be lauded, to be cheered,
to be crowned as one of the game’s greatest players . . . ‘You
know all about him,’ said Baltimore’s Brooks Robinson, himself
a Hall of Famer, during that 1971 World Series. ‘But in real
life he’s even better.’" (From REMEMBER ROBERTO, by Jim
O’Brien).
Company members include Enrique
Bazan as the Commentator, with Jerry Wienand, Ed Tarzia, Mike
Sharkey, Angelo Bruni, Josh Stanson, Yvette Melendez, and 9

We are also proud to have the support of
Luis Clemente and Vera Clemente, plus Steve Blass and Nellie
Briles. We encourage to visit the official Clemente Website at

and look at the great work being done by his son Luis to bring
Roberto’s dream come true for young people in Puerto Rico
through Sports City.
