Meet Buka

Hatch Date: 04/01/00
Sex: Male
Weight: 350 grams

Identification: General green plumage; bend of wing blue; and side of body red. Adults have an orange beak, juveniles have a black beak. The Vosmeri have a slight tinge of yellow to the tip of the tail.  

Range: Generally New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, and the Cape York Peninsula of Australia.  

Habitat: Lowland Forests and some clumps of tall trees in savannah. Depending on the Island they are found on and the sub-species they may be found from the coast to the high mountains.
