| Based on Elizabeth George Speare’s
Newbery Award Winning book -
Directed by Deborah J. Blazevich and
Starring Gillian
Jacobs, Gil as Kit Tyler, and Mary Craig as Hannah Tupper, the
Witch of Blackbird Pond.
We invite you to journey back to the
Salem Witch trials. Here, we discover Kit Tyler, a teen-aged girl
from the Caribbean Islands, diving in the bay to rescue a doll for a
young girl. As Kit returns the doll, instead of being welcomed as a
friend, the adults in this Connecticut Colony village accuse her of
being a witch.
Kit finds the only place where she can
feel completely free is in a meadow by a pond. Here she meets
another lone, mysterious woman who has been marked by the same
village. Much to her surprise, Kit finds this person to be a warm,
nurturing and cat-loving old woman. What happens to their
friendship, to Kit’s time in Connecticut and to her friendship with
a Nathaniel, the young mate from the boat who has his eyes on her?
Will Kit, Hannah and the young girl Prudence survive the harsh witch
trials, accusations and glancing looks?
We will put you back in time and
surround you with the action, antics and adventures of Kit, the
Witch of Blackbird Pond and her tabby cat.
